GIRL TALK STATUS UPDATE

Girl Talk last night. My back is fucked up. Everyone was sweaty and messy and everything was intense... look like (almost) everyone loved it!

Thanks to everyone who came out, everyone who danced, sweat, died a little bit, brought their friends from off campus... I think that UMBC chant at the end is what did it for me. Whether or not you know what a Chesapeake Bay Retriever is, I think we all have to admit, we were proud as hell last night to be UMBC students.

Student Orgs: Host A Table At Quadmania 2009

So spring break is almost over, and if you're an on-campus student, you're moving back in today. Hopefully your spring break was a chance to hang out, relax, and maybe go crazy. If not, don't worry, because SEB is giving you that chance in LESS THAN A MONTH with QUADMANIA!

That's right! QUADMANIA is coming up really quickly. While you've been cruising, beaching, going to canada to escape the cold Baltimore winter (wtf, Jenna!), or just working in The Commons anyway, SEB has been hard at work preparing.

Now it's your chance to prepare. Are you in a Student Organization? Council of Majors? Club Sport? Intellectual Sport? Activism Group? Poodle Fanclub? All SGA-approved student groups are eligible to reserve a booth at Quadmania 2009 for the Saturday outdoor carnival and live music stage. This puts your student org right in the heart of all of the action. Raise awareness of your cause! Sell cupcakes! Recruit members for next Fall! Do whatever!

Check out the Facebook event (and awesome poster -designed by Jenna Ullrich and Tazuko Sugajima) for information on how your student org can get in on the action. And if you have a roommate / BFF / classmate / facebook acquaintance that you know is in a student organization, or is even a president/vice president, make sure to mention this awesome opportunity. SEB Is bringing the ferris wheel and a couple thousand people, so this is a great chance to be seen!

See you later,
-Adam + all of your SEB BFFs

P.S. Don't forget, we're screening SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (which just won 8 Academy Awards!) this coming weekend, Thurs/Fri/Sat and it's FREE, so if you haven't seen the movie yet, don't miss it, and if you did see it but want to see it again without paying $8.50 at Muvico Arundel Mills (where it is STILL screening!), now's your chance.

UMBC ARTWEEK 2009

ArtWeek 2009 is almost here!

ArtWeek celebrates the arts at UMBC by hosting a Student Art Showcase in addition to a week of art and art-related events! Join us for hands-on crafts, performances, open mic, lectures/panel discussion, and more!

Check out some highlights on the flyer below, but be sure to check out the entire schedule with descriptions at the official UMBC ArtWeek 2009 website, http://orgs.umbc.edu/vacm.

See you at the events!

P.S. Dear Mike-from-the-last-post,

You can go fuck yourself.

GIRL TALK TICKET SALE

I heard a secret rumor that Girl Talk tickets are going on sale soon!

Ticket sale begins Wednesday, February 25th at noon at The Commons Information Center. They are $15 each, and you are allowed to purchase two. Bring your UMBC ID, as we will be enforcing the two per student policy!

The show itself is going to be Sunday, April 26th, the weekend after Quadmania.

These tickets are going to sell out (probably the same day they go on sale), because Girl Talk has sold out every show he's played recently in the Baltimore/DC area (9:30 Club, Sonar), and because it is going to be in the UC Ballroom. If you want tickets, plan on lining up early, or make plans with a friend who can get you your ticket, etc. We will not be letting people "save spots" or anything like that. No funny business!

+ + + + + + + + + + +

I also heard an even better rumor, and that's the release of the new SEB Events Video Blog for this week! AWESOME, I know!
